Stratis, after many years of painstaking research, publishes his Thesis on the role of Aspasia in the Peloponnesian War.

A group of American film producers approaches him to acquire the rights in order to use his scholarly work for a historical parody film.

Initially, he rejects their proposal, but the demands of life and his financial obligations to his loved ones force him to accept. At the same time, he falls in love with the leading actress of the film.

The author agrees, and he quickly falls in love with the film's protagonist, leaving his girlfriend behind. However, his encounter with the world of commercial entertainment disappoints him, and he returns to his old life and his former love.

The Greek-American producer finds another victim: a history professor, aiming this time for the creation of a comic book. Meanwhile, he convinces the author's sister to marry him.
