Two female teachers have decided to take matters into their own hands and educate children growing up in areas of high delinquency, which are classified as ghettos. Through the power of education, some of these children have managed to break free from there.
In Nea Zoi, Aspropyrgos, one of the most dangerous areas of Attica, Matina Vavouli is the principal of the primary school attended almost exclusively by Roma children.
In Agia Sophia, in the West of Thessaloniki, Rodi Kavouni is the head of the kindergarten of the settlement also admitting Roma children exclusively.
