Katerina Zacharopoulou, an artist herself, created the idea of "The Era of Images". She curates and presents it by researching the international art scene and the contemporary rendering of images, having with her competent and creative partners, for the best possible visual result.
"The Era of Images", the only show on contemporary art on Greek television celebrates 19 years of broadcast (2003-2022) through ERT Public Television.
During these years, the show has recorded many of the most important art events, in Greece and abroad, highlighting relationships and partnerships between our country and important museums, artists, exhibitions, biennale, as well as ways of perceiving the modern world.

The Era of Images presents the exhibition "Medusa Art Gallery (1979-2017)" which took place at the Benaki Museum in the spring of 2022.

The exhibition chronicles the activities of the Medusa Art Gallery through the historic works of its artists, which were exhibited for the first time at the gallery at 7 Xenokratous Street.

At the same time, the exhibition is also a representation of Maria Dimitriadi, the founder of the gallery whose path was interrupted by the untimely loss of its creator in 2017. However, she managed to entrust her close associates with the double - publishing and exhibition - project, also taking care of its implementation.

The exhibition presented more than 230 works by 57 Greek artists, highlighting not only the historical development of the Medusa Art Gallery and the pioneering character of Maria Dimitriadi's choices - even by today's standards - but also raising thoughts and questions about an entire cycle of life of Greek art galleries from the years after the fall of the military junta to the present day.

The curator of the exhibition, Elisavet Plessa, the sculptor, a close friend of M. Dimitriadi and executor of her will Nakis Tastsioglou, and the artists collaborating with the gallery at the time, Katerina Apostolidou, Aemilia Papaphilippou, Lina Bebi, Miltos Michailidis and Giorgos Rorris talk about all this to Katerina Zacharopoulou.
