Episode 19
This episode of the series "Tales for Tails" is dedicated to disabled animals. We narrate stories of people who decided to unite their lives with disabled animals and have benefited in many ways from this cohabitation. "You receive immense love from an animal that is disabled", Vasiliki Magou tells us. "You start to see things different too, it makes you feel stronger." "We should not be afraid of disabilities and difficulties", Maria Stefanidou tells us. "Relationships are built. Both between humans, as well as between humans and animals. As long as there is patience and love." "Disability does not mean euthanasia for an animal. It is a wonderful feeling to give quality of life to animals that others considered doomed, to watch them run carefree and happy, to return to them the freedom they had been so deprived of...", says Alexandros Vardaxoglou, veterinarian and founder of Pet Mobility, a group of inventive Greek veterinarians and engineers who manufacture low-cost wheelchairs for four-legged animals. Finally, Ioanna Maria Gkertsou, a psychologist at the University Child Psychiatry Clinic of the "Agia Sofia" Children's Hospital and president of the Lara Guide Dog School tells us that "the great lesson we learn from disabled animals is how to turn our problems into assets." Disabled animals are not inferior in anything compared to the rest. As long as they are given a chance to unravel their character and offer all their love to the one who will become their person.
