The "Youth for 17 targets" focuses on those who stand on the threshold of adulthood, shortly before or shortly after their first vote. They are the children of the crisis and the digital revolution, but also the first generation of citizens after the first quarantine against the pandemic. Using the United Nations Agenda 2030 as a guide and platform for change, the "Youth for 17 targets" series addresses the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and seeks the ideals and good practices that make the young protagonists dream, act, and claim a better world; a fairer, greener, more peaceful world.
Today:
«Goal 3 - Good Health and Well-being»
The show "YOUTH FOR 17 TARGETS" explores the 2030 Agenda adopted by all United Nations member states and the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals by engaging young citizens of Greece in the discussion. The show explores Goal 3, which aspires to ensure Good Health and Well-being, by meeting 18-year-old Thanos Karasmanakis, a freshman student in the School of Physical Education and Sports Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The 18-year-old 200-meter runner is confronted with significant questions concerning the importance of good health. Why is health an essential requirement for prosperity? How is Covid-19 related to climate change and inequalities? How is health status related to poverty and economy? Thanos seeks answers and proposes his own solutions to whatever makes him anxious and gives him hope in a time of pandemic and forced deprivation of liberty.
