The "Youth for 17 targets" focuses on those who stand on the threshold of adulthood, shortly before or shortly after their first vote. They are the children of the crisis and the digital revolution, but also the first generation of citizens after the first quarantine against the pandemic. Using the United Nations Agenda 2030 as a guide and platform for change, the "Youth for 17 targets" series addresses the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and seeks the ideals and good practices that make the young protagonists dream, act, and claim a better world; a fairer, greener, more peaceful world.
Today:
"Goal 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation"
"Youth for 17 targets" explores the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals, in the company of young people living in Greece. For Goal 6, it meets 15-year-old, Chrysa Tzika, a student at the Experimental High School of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki and a member of the virtual student company FlowON.
The young student presents her thoughts, hopes, but also her anxieties about the adequacy of the planet in water and the fundamental right of all to it. She tells us how she and twenty-two other students set up a business with the aim of conservation and better hygiene in the times of the pandemic. And it gives us the opportunity to learn with her about the major threats to the Earth's water resources and how we can bring hydrobiological cycles to a close faster in order to recover the water resources we need.
