ERT3 Production Series 2008–2009

The series "Sacred Footpaths" follows ancient routes to embark on a journey through Orthodox monasticism — a pilgrimage into every form of Byzantine art. Within "Sacred Footpaths", viewers learn, among other things, about Palaiologan painting, unique mosaics, Byzantine music, the duties of monastics, hesychasteria (hermitages), ascetic retreats, semantra (wooden or metal percussion instruments used in monasteries), and talanta (handheld gongs).

The journey continues with a stop at the "Kyra", Panagia Prousiotissa. The "Lady", a monastery of enduring presence through the centuries, draws viewers into a spiritual voyage of reflection and quest. The audience is captivated by the power of the landscape, the harmony of stone, water, and greenery. In the monastery’s candle-making workshop, prayer suspends time.
