A documentary series capturing the oral testimonies of Greek creators during pivotal periods of their lives, their work, and their country. Each creator selects a specific year crucial to their work and narrates their life during that period, the work they are preparing, along with any underlying contexts, interdependencies, and reinterpretations that connect it to their personal life.

Simultaneously, the series presents historical events of the country taking place in the same year, events that define, complement, or even interpret the preceding circumstances. All of these, of course, are framed as preserved and selected by memory.

The purpose of the series is to capture "stories" that revolve around the realm of oral testimony.

The episode of the documentary series “THE HISTORY OF MY TIMES” hosts MIKIS THEODORAKIS, who focuses his narration on 1964, the year in which he presents for the first time to the public the musical adaptation of “Axion Esti” by ODYSSEAS ELYTIS.

He initially refers to the process of setting the work to music, which took the form of an oratorio, to the hesitations of the record company he was working with, and to the initial questioning of the aesthetic value of the work by the intellectual circles of the time.

He then refers to the music he composed that same year for the film “Zorba” by MICHALIS KAKOGIANNIS, while also recalling the most significant political events of 1964.
