After decades of dominance in the late-night talk show scene of American television, British host Katherine Newbury finds herself facing the end. The new program director of the network is preparing to replace her due to low ratings, as Katherine's snobbish and elitist approach to topics and guests does not align with the modern trends of social media and a younger audience. At the same time, her husband, who is battling cancer, and her show's staff, who fear her, add toxicity to her life until a new writer joins her team.
