Karagiozis lives on and reigns, and he is still with us—along with his entire troupe and all his old jokes and antics, which somehow feel fresh and new again, because he has been deeply loved. First and foremost by the great masters—the original Karagiozis puppeteers—who have since passed away, and now by today’s remarkable shadow theatre artists, many of whom were once apprentices to those old masters. The chain reaches all the way to our days and continues on, without even the tiniest link ever breaking.
