While out with his loudmouthed friend Bernie, Danny meets successful businesswoman Debbie, who, like Danny, is also wary of relationships. However, the two feel an undeniable attraction and end up spending the first of many nights together. They try to navigate becoming a couple, despite warnings from Bernie and Debbie's best friend, Joan. Meanwhile, Bernie and Joan experience their own peculiar chemistry.

This is a remake of the 1986 film of the same name, based on David Mamet's one-act play "Sexual Perversity in Chicago".
