"The Islands Claiming Homer's Ithaca" (With English Subtitles)
After the end of the Trojan War, Odysseus, the resourceful king of Ithaca, wanders the seas for a decade, living incredible adventures and dangers, as described by Homer in the ""Odyssey"". After his wanderings, he returns exhausted to his homeland, Ithaca. But what was the real port where Odysseus returned? What is the real Homeric Ithaca? Was it today's Ithaca or some other place?
The show makes a journey to the parts of the Ionian Sea that claim, each with its own theory, the location of Homer's Ithaca. The lack of substantial archaeological findings sustains a conflict between islands and regions of the Ionian Sea that continues to this day.
