"Islands on the Edge" is a documentary series by ERT3 that portrays the life of a few inhabitants on small outlying islands. Through a cinematic view, the experiences of the people, their stories, the past, the present, and the future of these remote places are captured. Each episode is a journey, a collection of images, faces, and moments of everyday life. An attempt to understand a different world, a small isolated land surrounded by sea.

Little Tasos came here from Germany with his mother Jenny, looking for a life in human measure. Mrs. Angeliki and Mr. Gerasimos, having spent a lifetime together, reached the other side of the planet, to return here to the only place that both of them recognize as their “home”. Grandma Magdalene has been living here for a long time without her husband, as well as with her daughters in the States. But their presence is kept alive surrounding her through the photographs that adorn the walls. Her house and courtyard, a small self-sufficient ark. Klaus, from Austria, managed to live the dream of every Northener, who longs for the sun and sea, and now spends his summers here in the place he chose to have as his home. And of course the retired American hot dog vendors from Mathraki. The famous specialists of their kind throughout the States. With Greece’s national team playing on television, loukoumas, pizza, and hot dog nights are reasons for everyone to gather in the island’s one and only café, the "Kentrikon".
