Robert MacCall, a former marine and secret agent who resides in Massachusetts and simultaneously works for a custom transportation company, acts as a self-appointed avenger and defender of justice and the weak. When a close colleague of his, Susan, is brutally murdered under mysterious circumstances, MacCall returns to active duty, doing everything possible to find and punish the culprit.
