A car electrician, Haris, spends all his money on fancy clothes and has an obsession with appearing like a "lord." He constantly argues with his brother, Vassilis, who is also a blue-collar worker (a house painter) and bears the financial burden of their household alone. Haris believes that with his appearance, he will one day manage to seduce a wealthy girl and change his life immediately. However, Martha, the wealthy daughter of shipowner Karapezis, falls in love with and marries Vassilis because he saved her life, disregarding her father's opinion and wealth.
