We are investigating the role of Lord Byron and the Exodus of Messolonghi in the foundation of the modern Greek state. The famous British writer, who is captivated by Greece and participates in the Revolution, loses his life after 100 dramatic days in Messolonghi, sparking a wave of European solidarity with the Greek struggle. One year later, the siege of Messolonghi culminates in the heroic Exodus, and the philhellenic movement peaks, leading to the intervention of the Great Powers in favor of the Greeks. We are engaging in discussions with historians, researchers, and descendants of the heroes of the Exodus of Messolonghi.
