Peggy Sue Bodell attends her 25th high school reunion after separating from her philandering husband, Charlie. She regrets many of the decisions she made in her life, such as getting pregnant by Charlie during high school. When she faints at the reunion, she wakes up in 1960. With the chance to relive her life, she changes many things. However, some choices become more complicated as she starts to see the charm and genuine feelings of young Charlie.

The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Actress.
