Books that after lying on the adjacent pillow, were squeezed together with the swimming towel, were marked by a stain of a coffee cup, laughed and cried, and were thrown into the street. And just before they ended up in the garbage, another homeless man picked them up in an attempt to find a home for both man and book and, most importantly, their lost dignity.
Yiannis Darras joins the founder of a different kind of bookstore that not only gives life to discarded books but also gives life to forgotten people, reminding us that the lack of social welfare cannot be replaced with charity but with solidarity towards our fellow human beings.
