The new season of THE ERA OF IMAGES focuses once again on sociopolitical issues, prominent figures in artistic creation, origin stories from the Greek diaspora, the formation of collections, and works and artists who encourage and are inspired by the concept of coexistence. Highlights of the new season include, among others, South African artist of Greek descent Penny Siopis with her retrospective at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), the DEMOCRACY exhibition at the National Gallery, MOMus in Thessaloniki and the history of its collections, NEON’s Space of Togetherness exhibition at the School of Irene Papas, and the 50th Venice Biennale—a staple and pinnacle of the show since 2003.

"The Era of Images" visits the international exhibition "Space of Togetherness," a production by the NEON organization, at the Drama School of the National Theatre / Scholeion of Athens – Irene Papas. Katarina Zacharopoulou meets the curator of the exhibition and director of NEON, Elina Kountouri, at the venue, where the archive of the Documatism group, created by African diasporic communities, is showcased.

Elina Kountouri addresses questions regarding the form of the exhibition, which raises some of the most pressing questions Europe and the world face today, such as the movement of people, cultures, and ideas. The works of the artists, several of which are discussed in depth, illuminate stories revealed when race, politics, human rights intersect, and explore how predetermined ideas about racism, social mobility, migrants' rights, and the sense of belonging are woven into our daily lives, examining coexistence through the diversity of class, race, and gender.
