Dramatic, Police, Medical Series
"The Oath," a gripping modern existential drama of values with a police plot, directed by Spyros Michalopoulos and written by Tina Kampitsi, stars Yannis Stankoglou, Anna-Maria Papacharalampous, Giorgos Gallos, and a plethora of exceptional actors.
The Story…
AngelOs Raptis (Yannis Stankoglou), perhaps the best general surgeon in Greece, is a renowned scientist in a happy marriage with lawyer Iro Anagnostopoulou (Anna-Maria Papacharalampous), with whom he has a brilliant daughter, Melina (Maria Siarava).
The countdown begins on his birthday night, during his shift, when he is brought the lifeless bodies of his wife and daughter, who had been left helpless on the road for hours following a car accident. In one night, Angelos loses everything: his family and his faith. This leads him to deny reality and life itself.
He leaves the hospital and isolates himself at his family home by the lake. He resigns…
At some point, in a deserted alley in downtown Athens, a pregnant woman named Louisa pleads with him to help her give birth and not to leave her helpless on the street. Angelos cannot refuse.
Louisa (Adriana Andreovits) is the wife of the well-known shipping magnate, Haris Zafeiris (Dimosthenis Papadopoulos), who, to express his gratitude, sponsors the volunteer program "Street Medicine," which Angelos's brother Pavlos (Giorgos Gallos), a university professor and hospital curator, wants to start.
After a chance incident, Angelos has strong suspicions that the accident that cost his wife and daughter their lives was not an accident but a premeditated crime. He ultimately agrees to lead the program, through which the skills and heroic character of the team members will be showcased.
The general practitioner Fanis Markatos (Prometheus Aleiferopoulos), the paramedic and nurse Patty Stewart (Areti Tili), the streetwise Salvatoro Krassas (Sifis Polyzoidis), the social worker and close friend of Iro, Chloe Terzaki (Loukia Michalopoulou), and the anesthesiologist Stefos Karouzos (Nikos Poursanidis) will join Pavlos and Angelos on the streets of Athens, facing incidents that will test their medical knowledge as well as their emotional resilience.
Through loves that are born or dissolve, relationships that develop or clash, flashbacks to the past, and a mystery that continuously unfolds, the road will transform the heroes and lead Angelus to rediscover his faith in life and medicine.
