A documentary series to be completed in 12 half-hour episodes.

The tragic fate of the Greek population of Asia Minor after the destruction of 1922 is described through people who lived through the events.

Most of them - children at the time, senior citizens today - speak about their experiences in a heart-wrenching manner and vividly recount crucial events that characterize the history of the displaced Greek population.

They narrate their lives before the Catastrophe, nostalgically recalling their familiar places - scenes of which are interwoven during their storytelling - and the unparalleled culture they left behind as they were forced to flee to Greece. They also discuss the challenges they faced in this new chapter of their lives.

The refugees from Tsobanisia of Smyrna, Kyriakos Koulias, Aspasia Karampa and Ioanna Pantelopoulou, talk about their childhood and school years in Asia Minor. Afterwards, they recall the atrocities of the Turks, the burning of Smyrna and the final expulsion from their homes. They also talk about the first days when they settled in Greece and, in general, the difficulties of adapting.
