Comedy, produced in 1960.

Mr. Panagiotis, the receptionist at a hotel in Rhodes, narrates the stories of the tenants of three neighboring rooms.

In one room stay Sofia Katrana with her daughter Vera, who have lost their fortune and are seeking a wealthy groom.

Next door lives the widow of a shipowner, Vivi, who no longer wants to live alone. Nearby is Petros Rambou, a bankrupt Athenian seeking salvation in a good dowry.

Vera madly falls in love with a handsome young man, Kostas, but her mother, who intended her to marry Petros, reacts. However, when she learns that Petros is penniless, she changes her plans.

Finally, Petros accepts the marriage proposal of Mrs. Vivi and thus finds the lifeline he was looking for.
