Drama - Ethnography, Production 1965.
Thanasis, a poor islander, lives with his mother and his four sisters. He works on ships, but the money is scarce and barely enough to live on. Besides the financial difficulties, he also has to deal with the problem of his unmarried sisters who lack dowries. So, he is forced to leave for America.
A cinematic adaptation of the short stories by Alexandros Papadiamantis "The American" and "Luck from America," filmed in Skiathos and Skopelos in 1965.
