A series of 12 original half-hour documentaries, presenting traditional arts and techniques in the 21st century, filmed in various parts of Greece. The young protagonist Christos Zacharof travels from Corfu and Paramythia to Lesvos and Patmos, Geraki, Laconia and Lagkadia, Arcadia, to Alexandroupoli and the villages in the Rhodope mountains, places where economically viable traditional professions are still practiced, most of which are included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.
Christos attempts to learn the secrets of marble craftsmanship, wooden shipbuilding, silversmithing, or knitting in the places where they are practiced, working alongside the craftsmen. Along with Christos, the viewer of the documentary also experiences the struggle, difficulties, and peculiarities of each art!

The Cretan lyra, cousin of the lyra of Constantinople and Pontus, is still made traditionally by the people who love its sound and music.

In the new episode of “Meet the Craftsmen”, Ira visits Stelios Petrakis' workshop in Gouves, in the prefecture of Heraklion, and after learning two or three basic things about the types of lyra, she finds out that its construction starts from tree trunks in house ruins, continues with carefully cutting and seeking the perfect wood so that the instrument has the perfect sound, followed by a ritual, worthy of an instrument made to accompany us in joys and sorrows.

Together with Ira, the viewer will get an idea of how to construct the musical instrument that is so loved in Crete, and enjoy two great musicians (Ross Daly and Kelly Thomas) trying out their lyras together with Stelios Petrakis.
