The 39-year journey of a TV show on ERT!!! The longest-running cultural program on television.
In each program, the autobiographical subject sets the framework of the film that is made about them. Then, with their collaboration, the structure and character of the entire presentation are determined. We initially study all the existing biographical information, follow the thorough documentation of the person's work that we are recording, refer to publications and interviews concerning them, and after months of preparation, we complete our television recording.
Today:
"Elli Solomonidi Balanou"
Elli Solomonidi Balanou. Cartoonist, Set Designer and Costume Designer, she paints her self-portrait on Monogramma.
A charismatic woman bearing the inherent gentility and culture of the Greeks of Smyrna, Asia Minor, the precious legacy of her grandfather Sokratis, who had been an elected elder of their city of Smyrna and publisher of the historic newspaper "Amalthea". Her house is overflowing with memories of the Greeks of Asia Minor, as though not a day has passed since they were forced to flee... Her grandfather was an eminent figure of the community of Smyrna, as well as a friend of the murdered Metropolitan Chrysostomos whom, having foreseen the tragic events that would follow, he had urged to flee as well. He had also been an informant of the Greek prime minister at the time, Eleftherios Venizelos, informing him of what was taking place in the area.
