To mark the 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis’ birth, the ERT National Symphony Orchestra traveled to Egypt and, in collaboration with the A Capella Choir of the Cairo Opera, presented the monumental work "Zorbas" on 8/4/2025, in the main hall of the Cairo Opera House. The performance was conducted by Michalis Economou, Principal Conductor of the ERT National Symphony Orchestra, and featured mezzo-soprano Nefeli Kotseli as the soloist.
This grand concert was held through a collaboration between ERT, the Embassy of Greece in Egypt, the Egyptian Ministry of Culture / Department of International Cultural Relations, and the Cairo Opera House.
