In 1968, Georgios Papandreou is having an operation in a central hospital in Athens. Kyveli, separated for years from the great love of her life, goes to see him. How did these two eminent figures of Greek history come together? One in politics, one in theater? It all begins a long time ago...

1968. Kyveli realizes that the junta is tapping her phone. Abroad, Melina Mercouri and other exiles are organizing resistance. Dimitris Horn stands by his beloved godmother. At the hospital where Georgios Papandreou is being treated, his son Giorgos and junta guards are by his side. Valentina is searching for Vladimiros. Fontas continues reading Krontiras’s diary. Foteini and Michalis spend their last days at the seaside hotel. Olga tries to find something—anything—that will help her “choose” life.

Papandreou proposes to Sophia, promising her a wonderful life. Later, in Berlin, Papandreou meets Eleftherios Venizelos for the first time, impressing him with his rhetorical skill. But will he fulfill his bold ambitions? Chryssoula, Myrat’s wife, is pregnant. Meanwhile, Kyveli and Marika Kotopouli stage the same play at the same time—who will emerge as the true artistic victor in this theatrical showdown? Kyveli is attacked in her home by royalist supporters intending to eliminate her—an event that leads her assailants straight to the police station as defendants. Later, Kyveli travels to Chios with her troupe and Theodoridis—where she meets Papandreou for the first time.
