"Islands on the Edge" is a documentary series by ERT3 that portrays the life of a few inhabitants on small outlying islands. Through a cinematic view, the experiences of the people, their stories, the past, the present, and the future of these remote places are captured. Each episode is a journey, a collection of images, faces, and moments of everyday life. An attempt to understand a different world, a small isolated land surrounded by sea.

"Pserimos" (With English subtitles)
Episode 2
Pserimos—a small island on the edge of the Aegean, nestled between Kalymnos, Kos, and Imia. With low hills and narrow valleys, but “tall” people—proud, strong, resilient. Pserimos is their island, and it’s where they’ve learned to live. Self-sufficient and tenacious.
There’s Sakellaris, the shepherd, with his loyal dog; Kyra Kali, cradling little Panormitis as he flies his first kite; Kyra Psili, offering her wisdom freely; and Maria, a “migrant for love,” who left Kalymnos to live with her husband Giorgos, the man who runs the only café open on the island in winter. All together, they number just 25. But their stories are worth a hundred.
