In 1968, Georgios Papandreou is having an operation in a central hospital in Athens. Kyveli, separated for years from the great love of her life, goes to see him. How did these two eminent figures of Greek history come together? One in politics, one in theater? It all begins a long time ago...

Kyveli follows Theodoridis to Paris. Myrat becomes romantically involved with the sister of Kyveli’s great rival, Kotopouli. Meanwhile, Georgios Papandreou meets Meneiko during a student protest at the Law School, where he is studying. Kyveli and Theodoridis spend a year in Paris, where they have a daughter. Upon returning to Athens, Kyveli is triumphantly welcomed by the public, and her famous rivalry with Marika Kotopouli begins. At the same time, Georgios Papandreou and Sofia Meneiko live out a great love, just as Kyveli marries Theodoridis.
1968: Kyveli reads the love letters Georgios wrote to her during their life together. Her maid, Agapi, is also swept up in a passionate romance with Kyveli’s driver, Spyros. A mysterious couple, Foteini and Michalis, arrive at a hotel in Faliro to spend the weekend. But what exactly are they planning? Fontas, a junta officer, reads the diary of a deceased actor—unaware that what he discovers will radically change his life. His wife, Olga, lives her own personal drama and faces a major decision—one that will determine both her future and the future of her unborn child. Meanwhile, Kyveli’s great-granddaughter falls in love with a migrant poet.
And in a hospital room, Georgios Papandreou struggles between life and death.
