The "Open Book" series, produced by ERT in 2024, features one-hour episodes hosted by Giannis Sarakatsanis, dedicated exclusively to books and Greek authors.
In each episode, we highlight contemporary Greek publishing activity by hosting its creators. We recommend children's books for young readers, visit an established author who shares insights into their daily life, and renowned artists discuss the books that changed their lives!
Episode 7
Episode's description
In this episode, we host representatives from three of Greece's oldest publishing houses—Ikaros, Hestia, and Govostis—who share insights into Greek readers' preferences and discuss the evolution of Greek literature over the years. We also engage with Theodore Papakostas, popularly known as Archaeostoryteller, to explore Greeks' understanding of their own history. He offers a glimpse into his upcoming book, which ventures beyond Greece's borders. Additionally, Anna Vagena reflects on the books that have profoundly impacted her life, while Elpiniki Papadopoulou introduces us to the "Reading" community.
