Episode 7
Kostas Christopoulos, Assistant Professor of the Athens School of Fine Arts, tells us about his work and how contemporary art has evolved through its various influences from photography, cinema, the internet.
How our perception of the image has changed and what images we choose through the ocean of images that bombards us every day and what it is his own criterion.
He also talks about Hans Haake's work and, specifically, about the work he did for the German Parliament dedicated to the German people, as well as the representational issues raised by this artist.
A Greek painter who intrigued him and whom he approached on the occasion of his PhD on ethnocentric discourse in modern Greek art, is Yannis Tsarouchis who, while being an exponent of the Greek identity that unifies various traditions, managed to elude any stereotypical determination, although this seems to have changed after his death.
