Wooden boatbuilding has been an integral part of Greece's maritime identity since ancient times. However, this craft has faced significant losses over the years, with thousands of wooden boats—once considered unique works of art—being destroyed. Today, fewer boatbuilders remain, and most focus on maintenance rather than new construction.
