Here We Are (Season C ) (New Episode)
Entertainment / Show

A new season of adventure, exploration, and discovering beautiful places and even more wonderful people begins for the show “Here We Are” with Jérôme Kaluta.

In the third season of this unique travel documentary, Jérôme explores new, distant or closer destinations and delves into the secrets, traditions, and way of life of their inhabitants.

He becomes a sea wolf in Greek islands and seaside towns, climbs mountains, traverses gorges, tries hard work or delicate arts, cooks with top products from the Greek land, explores local legends, and becomes a farmer, shepherd, sailor, or captain! Always guided by the desire to become one with the place and make new friends, always with a ukulele in hand and an improvised melody and a verse, exceptionally dedicated to the people who give life and identity to each region.

And if you happen to meet him this summer, just follow along and get into the rhythm: "We've Arrived, Here We are!"

Today: "Distomo" [With English subtitles]
Episode 26

In a city with a 3,000-year history, a distinct identity, and memories that resonate deeply, the show “We’ve Arrived” with Jérôme Kaluta takes a journey to Distomo—a place that neither forgets nor surrenders.

Jérôme visits the Mausoleum and speaks with survivors of the Distomo massacre by the Germans in June 1944, who recount the events as they experienced them. They describe harrowing scenes and send a powerful message in favor of life and against war, from a town that stands as a symbol of wartime horror.

But Distomo is not defined solely by its heavy past. It is a place full of character and vitality, with unique traditions, folklore, and a thriving cultural scene. Jérôme meets the renowned Distomo Choir and learns about its history and activities.

In a kitchen filled with the aromas of cinnamon and clove, Jérôme prepares traditional Distomo pancakes to share with the famous Koudounarai. They welcome him into their group, and together—dressed in sheepskins, carrying staffs, and ringing deafening bells—they celebrate the arrival of spring in the town square.
