Here We Are (Season C )   (R)
Entertainment / Show

A new season of adventure, exploration, and discovering beautiful places and even more wonderful people begins for the show “Here We Are” with Jérôme Kaluta.

In the third season of this unique travel documentary, Jérôme explores new, distant or closer destinations and delves into the secrets, traditions, and way of life of their inhabitants.

He becomes a sea wolf in Greek islands and seaside towns, climbs mountains, traverses gorges, tries hard work or delicate arts, cooks with top products from the Greek land, explores local legends, and becomes a farmer, shepherd, sailor, or captain! Always guided by the desire to become one with the place and make new friends, always with a ukulele in hand and an improvised melody and a verse, exceptionally dedicated to the people who give life and identity to each region.

And if you happen to meet him this summer, just follow along and get into the rhythm: "We've Arrived, Here We are!"

Today: "Samos" (With English subtitles)
Episode 24

On the island of Hera and Pythagoras, which combines history and rich nature with philosophy and culture, the show "Ftasame" travels to the enchanting Samos, the land of taste and sweet wine, with Jerome Kalouta.

The city of Samos, with its beautiful seaside street and vertical alleys, captivates Jerome from the start, who then heads up to the picturesque Ano Vathy to explore the art of crafting handmade musical instruments and to learn about the Samos musical tradition.

In the northern part of the island, in the famous village of Vourliotes, known for their high-quality products, Jerome is introduced to the secrets of Samos cuisine, making traditional pumpkin-filled bourekia, which pair perfectly with the region’s sweet wine.

In Drakaioi, a remote but stunning village in the northwest of the island, Jerome meets one of the last shipwrights of Samos, which was once an important maritime and shipbuilding center of the Aegean.

Jerome explores the significance of "measure is best," both philosophically and practically, in Koumaradaioi, a village that continues the island’s long tradition of pottery. Jerome uncovers the secrets of the "Cup of Pythagoras" and tests his skills in the art of clay.

The episode concludes in the city of Samos, at a creative space full of life stories, hope, and solidarity...
