A series of 12 original half-hour documentaries, presenting traditional arts and techniques in the 21st century, filmed in various parts of Greece. The young protagonist Christos Zacharof travels from Corfu and Paramythia to Lesvos and Patmos, Geraki, Laconia and Lagkadia, Arcadia, to Alexandroupoli and the villages in the Rhodope mountains, places where economically viable traditional professions are still practiced, most of which are included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.
Christos attempts to learn the secrets of marble craftsmanship, wooden shipbuilding, silversmithing, or knitting in the places where they are practiced, working alongside the craftsmen. Along with Christos, the viewer of the documentary also experiences the struggle, difficulties, and peculiarities of each art!

"Sifnos Pottery" [With English subtitles]
Episode 12
The earthenware of Sifnos has known times of great glory, with exports to Alexandria, Constantinople, and wherever else there were Greek settlements. But the new materials that appeared in the 1950s forced Sifnos production to shrink, though not to disappear. In the new episode of Meet the Craftsmen, Christos learns to recognize traditional Sifnos earthenware, participates in their creation process, and is impressed by the ergonomics of the huge kilns that used to be built next to the sea. However, it is only when he sits down to work on the foot-operated wheel that he realizes the physical strength as well as the technical training required to create a traditional chimney, which they call ‘flaros’, a vat or a ‘skepastaria’, a roaster in which the traditional Sifnos chickpea soup is baked. With Christos, the viewer will recognize the persistence and hard work of the older potters and the creative drive of the younger ones, who are constantly exploring the limits of their art. After all, this led to the registration of Sifnos pottery in the National Index of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
