(Tribute to Dido Sotiriou, born on 18/02/1909)
This episode of "Behind the Curtain" is dedicated to the life and literary career of writer and journalist Dido Sotiriou.
She recounts with emotion her childhood memories in Aydin, Asia Minor, and the first days of settling in Athens after the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
She then discusses her experiential approach to writing, the themes of her books (Asia Minor Catastrophe, Civil War, Occupation), and their messages—aiming to narrate history without distorting or presenting it with subjectivity.
Finally, she provides an in-depth account of the events of the Asia Minor Campaign and Catastrophe, while her books are also showcased.
