"Islands on the Edge" is a documentary series by ERT3 that portrays the life of a few inhabitants on small outlying islands. Through a cinematic view, the experiences of the people, their stories, the past, the present, and the future of these remote places are captured. Each episode is a journey, a collection of images, faces, and moments of everyday life. An attempt to understand a different world, a small isolated land surrounded by sea.

Agios Efstratios, or Ai Stratis, is an island in the middle of the Aegean. The most remote island in Greece. It was destined to experience traumatic events through time. It is not only the exiles that marked the island but also the great earthquake that flattened everything, when a 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook the earth, changing the lives of the inhabitants forever. Between the past and the present, before and after the earthquake, the destroyed and the new settlement, the green oaks, and the blue sea, Ai Stratis is here in search of its new identity.
