"Islands on the Edge" is a documentary series by ERT3 that portrays the life of a few inhabitants on small outlying islands. Through a cinematic view, the experiences of the people, their stories, the past, the present, and the future of these remote places are captured. Each episode is a journey, a collection of images, faces, and moments of everyday life. An attempt to understand a different world, a small isolated land surrounded by sea.

Episode 6
A lush, narrow strip of land, northeast of Corfu.
A small universe where different people meet.
Giannis, the president of the island, a president for all seasons, as in a place with so few inhabitants, his duties extend far beyond what his counterparts usually manage.
Little Tasos arrived here from Germany with his mother, Jenny, in search of a life that aligns with human values.
Mrs. Angeliki and Mr. Gerasimos, a couple who has spent their whole lives together, traveled to the other side of the planet, only to return here, the one place both of them recognize as "home."
Grandmother Magdalene has been living alone for a long time since her husband passed, with her daughters in America. Yet their presence remains vibrant around her through the photos that adorn the walls. Her house and yard are a small, self-sufficient ark.
Klaus, from Austria, fulfilled his northern dream of sun and sea and now spends his summers here, in the place he chose to call home.
And, of course, the retired American hot dog vendors from Mathraki—famous specialists in their craft across America. Watching Greece’s national team on TV, nights of loukoumades, pizza, and hot dogs are reasons for everyone to gather at the island’s one and only café, "The Central."
