Telemachos has been engaged to Fofo for many years, but as a good brother, he waits for his older sister, Chrysanthi, to get married first.
However, the years pass, and Chrysanthi shows no intention of getting married.
So, Telemachos is forced to place a groom-wanted ad in a newspaper.
Two grooms appear, a fit retiree, Kriton, and a Greek-American, Rokas, but both are captivated, one by the young widow and cousin of Telemachos and the other by his fiancée, Fofo.
They immediately accept the marriage proposals they receive, leaving Telemachos alone once again with the care of his sister.
