"Kalabaka School for Woodcarving" [With English subtitles]
Episode 2
In Kalabaka, a state school has been operating for fifty years, where experienced woodcarvers teach young people from all over Greece to love wood, to chop it with respect and to produce elegant works of art from it. In the new episode of "Meet the Craftsmen" Christos begins his apprenticeship on a work of Aristos' inlay, but what puzzles him most are the names of the countless tools. Soon, though, she'll need to put what she's learned into practice to carve out the title of the show! From then on, he will try to learn the difference between a relief and a sculpture, but his mind will be on meeting the children in the forest, on the path of Asclepius. There, they will help Angelos, their teacher, who is making Asclepius' assistant from a tree trunk, life sized! Together with Christos, the viewer will navigate the waters and the growth rings of a fallen plane tree, follow the gully that carves traditional paths on the wood of apprenticeship and laugh at the banter of the company of young woodcarvers around the fire in the clearing of the forest.
