The family, the entire body of Greek traditional expression, comes as a continuation of the history, to prove that tradition is experiential and music is a living cell that is reborn through listening and rhythm.
Families of traditional musicians, musical families. Fortunately, there are still several! We enter the small, enclosed universe of a musical family, in its natural space, the neighborhood, at the café, and other haunts where its music and dancing activities take place. The family, the music, the contacts, the influences, the transactions, the confessions, and the narratives about the family’s life and action, not only by family members but also by third parties. And finally a small tribute to the beneficial effect on cohesion and psychology, through the ritual of musical get-togethers.

The case of brothers Matthaios and Konstantinos Tsahouridis serves as compelling proof that lived experience, when enriched by knowledge and academic study, can lead to significant cultural and musical shifts and harmonies, enhancing the collective body of our musical tradition and education.
Grounded in their ancestral Pontic lyra and equipped with both empirical and academic expertise, they effortlessly extend their artistry to other stringed instruments and songs. They emerge as innovators of a living, evolving tradition, embraced not only by the broad Greek audience but also by the global musical community.
Interactions, influences, and aesthetics become their hallmark, forging a new musical identity with which Matthaios and Konstantinos Tsahouridis introduce themselves to the world. Musical families demonstrate not only the perpetuation of a musical style but also the realization of a high art form, such as music, through pedagogical and ethnomusicological approaches.
Their acceptance by the general public, as well as by numerous academics and distinguished fellow musicians, paves the way for an exciting journey ahead!
