"Tribute to Katina Paxinou" - Part II
The actress Katina Paxinou is the star of this episode in the series "behind The Curtain".
Her grandson and actor Alexandros Antonopoulos presents the human side of the actress, her great love for music and travel. The focus is on her unique ability to transform in just a few seconds into the heroine of major roles, such as Mrs. Alving from "The Vampires," and it describes the special relationship she developed with the role and the audience until the end of her life.
Maria Hors and Eleni Chatziarhyri share memories of their collaborations with her in theater productions in Athens and Epidaurus, as well as from the trips they made together.
Kostas Kastanas speaks about his teacher at the National Theatre Drama School, and Alexis Minotis talks about his unique companion.
Of particular interest is the presentation of moments from Katina Paxinou’s personal film archive, an interview she gave to the BBC, the airing of audio excerpts of performances considered unique, and a rich collection of photographs.
