Series about the Greek music tradition.
The aim is to record and promote to the audience the richness, variety, and expressiveness of our musical heritage, through the local musical idioms as well as its modern potential in the urban environment of the big city.

The 'Salt of the Earth' and Lambros Liavas invite us to a celebratory gathering at the Greek community hubs in the USA, reviving the musical ambiance of the 'golden decades' of the '50s and '60s.

During this period, the most prominent bouzouki virtuosos and singers traveled to America and stayed there for extended periods. They composed an entire 'epic' with their historic recordings and performances in legendary venues on 8th Avenue in New York, in Chicago, and even... in Hollywood!

The show presents a representative selection of beloved folk songs from that era, along with some 'hidden gems', referencing the great virtuosos: Giannis Papaioannou, Manolis Hiotis, Dimitris Stergiou-Bebis, Giannis Stamatiou-Sporos, Giannis Tatasopoulos-Dillinger, Stavros Tzouanakos, Anestos Athanasiou, Jim Apostolou, and others.

Special emphasis is placed on the enchanting instrumental pieces of that period, where each of the old great bouzouki players left their mark through historic recordings that remain reference points and a challenge for future generations!

In the musical ensemble curated by Grigoris Vasilas, Stavroula Manolopoulou (vocals), Stamatis Anestopoulos (vocals-guitar), Filippos Pachnistis (piano), and Giorgos Ventouris (double bass) collaborate.
