Documentary / Travel

Travel show produced by ERT 2024-2025

Kostis's journey begins in Nisyros, a volcanic geopark of global significance. In Zeli Locris, we discover the Women’s Association and their unique relationship with Saint Seraphim. In Ano Doliana, the locals divide their lives between Parnonas and Astros Kynourias, with the sea on one side and the "Village" on the other. We climb the unexplored Chelmos in Peristera Aigialeias and follow in the footsteps of Golfo and Tasos. When do they dance the legendary “Koupa” in Megalo Chorio of Tilos, and why is the island considered a place of innovation and pioneering? In Jourtzia Aspropotamos, Kostis dives into the “Demon's Mantani,” and in Neo Argiri, he walks in the footsteps of Zacharias Papantoniou. Why has Nikos Tsiforos dubbed Lake Evia “Little Venice”? Sunday in the Village Again: a magical journey into history, folklore, music, cuisine, customs, and traditions. A journey into our culture.

Today: "Neo Argyri, Evrytania"
Episode 8

Sunday in Zacharias Papantoniou's neighborhood. Sunday at the "High Mountains." To one side lies Karditsa, to the other, Aitoloakarnania—and here we are, in Evrytania, in the Agrafa region. The famous song goes: "Thelo n' anevo st' Agrafa ki apano sta katsavracha (I want to climb Agrafa, the rocky peaks)." Achelous river works its wonders, with two iconic bridges, Templa and Avlaki, enhancing the picturesque scenery. Kostis immerses himself in the daily lives of the locals: washing weavings and bedding in the river, peeling corn, singing and dancing to "Mia kori Agrafiotissa (A Daughter of Agrafa)" and preparing the renowned "krampokouki." Father Nikolaos treats us to a beautiful song, "Stazoyn ta keramydia sou (Your tile roof is leaking)." The adventure continues in the "Bouzounikos" gorge, where the annual "Climbing Festival" takes place. The residents of Neo Argyri share heartfelt stories about their lives. And at the village's grand festival, we can't help but join in dancing the traditional song "Anastasia apo ta Agrafa (Anastasia of Agrafa)".
