Istorima is the largest project recording and preserving oral histories of Greece. More than 1,000 young researchers find narrators, listen, collect and preserve stories of people from all over Greece: Stories of their hometowns, stories of love, stories that changed Greece or defined it, modern or old stories. Stories that are not recorded in the history books and that could be lost in time.
It was created by journalist Sofia Papaioannou and historian Katherine Fleming and is implemented with a founding grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), as part of its initiative to Restart and Empower Youth.

"Saint Peter's Stew"
Episode 22
On the eve of Saints Peter and Paul, one of the largest feasts in Greece is set up in Spata. Around six tons of onions are peeled, and the whole area is filled with the fragrant smell of beef stew from the cauldrons simmering since the previous evening. This beloved tradition of the people of Spata has been passed down through generations, bringing together all the residents of the area, who work hard for days in preparation.
"The Saint Peter's Stew" is listed in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
