A cinematic adaptation of the titular theatrical comedy by Gialamas and Pretenderis.
Emir Abdurrahman of Keibout-Kabir arrives incognito in Greece for a vacation and to meet his son, Prince Abdullah, who is studying at the university while secretly collaborating with the Revolutionary Movement of their homeland to overthrow his father.
At the Mont Parnes Hotel, where the emir is staying, the Greek film company "Arpa Kolla Film" is shooting a movie. Andreas, an extra playing the role of a naval officer, meets the emir's half-Greek daughter, Gyulinar, who mistakes him for a Navy officer sent by the government to escort her.
Of course, they fall in love, but the coincidence of the fake lieutenant's name with that of a real junior officer lands Andreas in jail.
Three months later, upon his release, his friend Fifis takes him to the Keibout-Kabir cabaret, opened in Greece by Emir Abdurrahman after the Revolutionary Movement took over his country, resulting in his loss of power.
Andreas confesses the truth to Gyulinar, who genuinely loves him and doesn’t care that he is a poor extra.
