Archaeologist Petros Themelis began excavations in 1986 and passed away last October. However, he left behind much more than just an archaeological site. The 5,000 residents of Orchomenos, Boeotia, raised 200,000 euros from their own savings and by mobilizing major sponsors to achieve their dream of restoring their ancient theatre.
