The aim is to record and promote to the audience the richness, variety, and expressiveness of our musical heritage, through the local musical idioms as well as its modern potential in the urban environment of the big city.

The show 'The Salt of the Earth' and Lambros Liavas present a tribute to the 'Encounters of Young Traditional Music Ensembles' organized by the Cultural Association 'Domna Samiou'.

These encounters, under the general title 'Rose Petals - The Youth for Domna Samiou', began in 2017 and have now become an institution, aiming to provide a platform for young groups engaged with the musical traditions of Hellenism and to promote them in today's context.

Domna passed away in March 2012, her recognition and the love of all Greeks accompanying her. Ten years after her passing, the continuers of her work, 'the rose petals,' through the multifaceted actions and initiatives of the Association, are faithfully responding to the legacy she left us. After all, Domna herself confessed in an interview: 'I don't have children, but I feel that all the children of the world are mine. Everything I do is for them. They should take our grandparents' songs and pass them on to their grandchildren!'

This was the message of this year's '3rd Meeting of Young Traditional Music Ensembles,' which took place on October 16th and 17th at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, where 20 exceptional musical groups confirmed the strong resonance that our folk music has acquired among young audiences.

On this topic, Lambros Liavas discusses with the lyre virtuoso Socrates Sinopoulos (president of the 'Domna Samiou' Association) and Katerina Papadopoulou (responsible for the lessons and the choir of the Association).
