Pavlos, an older bachelor and a partygoer, manages an insurance company. His employee, Manolios Petihakis, is preparing to introduce his sister, Eva, for the position of secretary, which she ultimately gets. Paul's friend, Tasos, urges him to respond to a sentimental advertisement, which he does. Eventually, he arranges a meeting at the racetrack with the girl who signs as "Rose of Isphahan." However, the rendezvous turns into an argument. Eva, who presents herself as the suitor's fiancée, is the girl with whom Pavlos recently had a dispute at the racetrack. She pretends they haven't met before, and Eva agrees to play along. Soon, they will fall in love with each other and get married.
