A journey of discovery begins. A journey to Pontos with Iro Saia. A journey not to Asia Minor, but to the Pontos within Greece. Exactly 100 years after their violent return, the Akrites, who prospered from 800 BC until 1922 AD in the areas surrounding the Black Sea, managed to maintain their historical identity and continue to be one of the most dynamic parts of Hellenism. We visit the places where they settled after their Uprooting, to shed light on the values that have kept this breed so special for 3,000 years. What are the elements that have imbued the soul of the Greeks of Pontos with such beauty and strength? What are the individual traits of this glorious Greek race?

The journey begins in the village of Kallithea in Elassona, where we meet the childhood influences of Iro, and her neighbor Magda. A very active Pontian who talks to us about her family history, the traditions and values she upholds, but also about her online show, through which Pontians from all over the world come together. Next up, we visit the holy pilgrimage of every Pontian, Panagia Soumela in Vermio. The director of the foundation Panagiotis Dallas offers us a tour and tells us the history of the monastery. Finally, with the help of singers Panagiotis Theodoridis and Alexis Parcharidis, we visit Sophia Sahtaridou at her "parchari", where she and her granddaughter Eirini prepare an authentic muhapet feast for us!
